From 2020, for personal growth, I decided to enter a selection of my fine art portraits into The Portrait Masters and Focus Portrait Awards. A panel of world-renowned Master Photographers critique and score all entries for expression, connection, styling, composition, posing, lighting, focus, overall technique, presentation, post-production and storytelling. Those images that meet and exceed professional standard, receive Bronze, Bronze With Distinction, Silver or Gold Awards. I am extremely proud to have been awarded all four awards in my entries into categories, including Children’s Portraits and Teen Portraits. Due to my award winning entries, I attained my Associate Photographer Accreditation through The Portrait Masters in July 2022.
In mid 2023, I submitted 4 portrait images into the local Orloff Awards (Pro Photography W.A.) and all of these images were awarded as Finalists. My 4 Finalist mounted prints were exhibited at the State Library of Western Australia in 2023.
Towards the end of 2023, I entered The Capture Awards, a competition for professional Australian & New Zealand Photographers. Three of my images received Highly Commended and one image received Commended. Additionally I entered the prestigious Icon International Photography Awards (formally WPPI) and my 3 entries all received Silver Awards. In July 2024, I received my Icon International Associate Photographer Accreditation.
Entering photography awards has been extremely rewarding for me and I am so inspired to continue to challenge my creativity.
My creative fine art portrait sessions are often inspired by vintage items and clothing. Additionally, my clients provide me with so much inspiration, therefore I love to incorporate their interests and individuality into their personalised fine art portrait sessions. I love designing mood boards to visually prepare and plan for upcoming sessions.
